Fred Randolph Qunitet

The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

Bassist/Composer/Band leader Fred Randolph brings his fiery quintet to The Sound Room Thursday April 25. The group has recorded 4 cds: “Learning Curve”, “New Day”, “Song Without Singing” and it’s most recent offering “Mood Walk”. JW magazine says of Mood Walk: “Stylistically eclectic, supremely grooving, endlessly fascinating masterwork… a rambunctious, twist, turn and improvisation-filled set.”Joining Fred will be some of the most in demand musicians on the scene: Erik Jekabson trumpet, Sheldon Brown saxes and flute, Isaac Schwartz drums, and Murray Low piano.www.fredrandolph.com
