The Catskill Players present THE  PSYCHIC

The Catskill Community Players is a not-for-profit community theater group founded in 1974 with the purpose of "promoting and presenting theater in the community". In 2016, the Catskill Community Players merged with Catskill Theatre Works, in a restructuring process, and attained non-profit status.The group typically produces two shows per year:  recently mostly comedies and mysteries.  Performances are given at the historic Wieting Theatre, in Worcester, NY. Over its 48 year history, other performance venues included South Kortright Central School's Harbaugh Hall, Stamford Central School, the Farrell Hall Little Theatre on the campus of SUNY Delhi, Delaware Academy, and Foothills Performing Arts Center. We draw from a vibrant theatre community of local actors, and talented directors & volunteer crew, which is constantly expanding.  Auditions are open to anyone at all levels of experience.There is an opportunity to join as a member of CCP, and membership is drawn from the communities of Oneonta, Worcester, Schenevus, South Kortright, Hobart, Stamford, Jefferson, Delhi, Franklin,  and surrounding areas.

The Wieting Theatre

The Catskill Community Players’ next production, The PSYCHIC, will be staged at the historic Wieting Theater in Worcester, April 26, 27, at 7:30pm and April 28 at 2:00pm. This hilarious murder-mystery by Sam Bobrick is directed by Lissa Sidoli and produced by Caitlin Liberati.THE PSYCHIC follows the chaotic life of Adam Webster, a down-on-his-luck writer, who has put a sign in his apartment window, in desperation to make the rent: “Psychic Readings $25”. The sign soon draws the interest of the lovely and conflicted Laura, her shady husband Roy, Roy’s mistress, Rita, a gangster named Johnny Bubbles, and ace Detective Norris Coslow. In the surprising twists that follow, THE PSYCHIC entangles in a hilarious murder-mystery that you won’t want to miss.Come join us at either of the evening shows, or at the matinee!
