Untangling Trauma is an open discussion with painters Judith Brassard Brown, Erick Maldonado, poet Ezra Pryor and artist and therapist Daniella Thomas in Kingston’s main gallery and livestreamed on Instagram.

Come talk with us on the many ways art can provide safe and meditative space to reflect on our own stories, to process and heal. Poetry readings from the book ‘The Path Through’ are part of this artist talk as well.

Participants:

Judith Brassard Brown has spent her life as a painter creating images as meditative spaces for the viewer to confront, process, and explore the messy business of being human. Her practice involves writing and research in support of making these complex, layered works, believing that the more we bring personal connections to the words and images on the wall or in books, the more we can use the meditative spaces of art to untangle and heal personally, as well as contribute to our communities.

Erick Maldonado is a Massachusetts based Dominican-American painter/visual artist, who primarily works with acrylic, oil, and mixed media using found materials, collage, and discarded materials to engage in his work, Erick is passionate and explores themes of family, black gay/homosexual culture, interpersonal relationships, Dominican folklore and biodiversity. Through his paintings, Erick explores issues of race, class, and gender through figure, portraiture, and social media. He lives and works in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Ezra Michael Pryor is an Intimacy Coach, Educator, and Author. As founder of the coaching methodology Radical Sexual Acceptance(¿), Ezra has helped countless people process grief, shame, and guilt regarding their gender and sexuality. Join them on the path from shock and denial, anger and bargaining, depression, reconstruction, working through, hope, and finally, acceptance. Learn you are not alone on this journey of healing and that you have companions on The Path Through.
