In Balance Green focusses on emerging trends in energy efficiency and green building technology. These in person events will take place on the morning of May 3 and May 31: presentations will be paired back to back, to allow you to attend 2 conveniently.

In this course we’ll provide practical approaches to reducing embodied carbon in residential and commercial projects. Learning objectives:• Understand new Cal Green requirements for embodied carbon taking effect July 2024• Be able to categorize common building materials for their likely carbon impacts• Identify simple tools and resources to streamline carbon comparisons• Understand related material considerations including global warming potential and carbon sequestration Michelle Zimney LEED AP BD+C, Living Future Associate, Certified Passive House ConsultantSenior Sustainability Consultant, In Balance Green Consulting:Michelle brings a decade of experience to her work with residential, commercial, mixed-use, and government clients to implement sustainable design and construction strategies, with the goal of maximizing resource efficiency and creating healthy spaces in which to live and work. Tatiana Soglin, LEED AP BD+C, GreenPoint Rated AdvisorTatiana’s passion for sustainability started at a young age. After spending a semester of college in Copenhagen, Denmark, she gained a deeper appreciation for green building and creating a more sustainable world through the built environment. She enjoys working on green building certifications through LEED and GreenPoint Rated, energy modeling, and managing our multi-family residential projects.
