Bolero by Angela Aguilar

Join us for a screening of "Bolero," a documentary following Ángela Aguilar as she visits eastern Cuba to dive deep and explore the roots of the Bolero genre.

Angela Aguilar, embraced her purpose of preserving traditional Mexican music, influenced by her family's musical legacy, including her grandfather Antonio Aguilar and father Pepe Aguilar. At 20, she continued this mission with the release of her album “Bolero”. Which infuses romantic classics with new life through castanets and guitar melodies. Alongside the album she presents a visual project documenting her exploration of Cuba, the birthplace of bolero, and where she met with musical legend Amadito Valdes and performed for Omara Portuondo. Bolero is the first installment of "Sonidos del Tiempo", a revolutionary project that explores the legacy and history of various important Spanish-speaking musical genres.

This is the first US screening of Bolero. "Sonidos del Tiempo" is produced by Pepe Aguilar and Simon Fuller.After various Mexico premieres, we are pleased to be the first in the US to present the film Bolero.

Acompáñenos en la proyección de "Bolero", un documental que sigue a Ángela Aguilar en su visita al este de Cuba para sumergirse y explorar las raíces del género del bolero.

Ángela Aguilar, abrazó su propósito de preservar la música tradicional mexicana, influenciada por el legado musical de su familia, incluidos su abuelo Antonio Aguilar y su padre Pepe Aguilar. A los 20 años, continuó esta misión con el lanzamiento de su álbum "Bolero". En él da nueva vida a los clásicos románticos con castañuelas y melodías de guitarra. Junto al álbum presenta un proyecto visual que documenta su exploración de Cuba, cuna del bolero, donde se reunió con la leyenda musical Amadito Valdés y actuó para Omara Portuondo. Bolero es la primera entrega de "Sonidos del Tiempo", un revolucionario proyecto que explora el legado y la historia de varios importantes géneros musicales de habla hispana.

Esta es la primera proyección de Bolero en Estados Unidos. "Después de varios estrenos en México, nos complace ser los primeros en Estados Unidos en presentar la película Bolero.
