Granite State Gallery: New Hampshire Art and Artists through the Years

Since 1976, the Rye Historical Society has engaged community members to learn about our little village and its significant role in the history of New Hampshire and the United States.In 2002, the Town Museum opened in the center of Town. The museum has ongoing and special exhibits  from May through October,  and programs for community education on topics related to the history of Rye throughout the year.In 2023, the society agreed to be the fiscal sponsor of Rye's 400th celebrations, working with the town and community to showcase the past 400+ years of history.RHS is a volunteer-led non-profit organization supported through memberships and donations.

Explore the rich history of New Hampshire art and artists

Presenter: <a href="https://www.nhhumanities.org/programs/teacher/58/jane-oneail" title="https://www.nhhumanities.org/programs/teacher/58/jane-oneail" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jane Oneail</a>New Hampshire has attracted and inspired artists since the colonial era. What is distinctive about the art made here? This program will consider works by itinerant and folk painters, landscape artists drawn to the state's scenic vistas, and modern artists that adopted bold styles to depict everyday life in the Granite State. Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Childe Hassam, and Maxfield Parrish are some of the artists discussed in this program.&nbsp; This event is made possible by a grant from New Hampshire Humanities.&nbsp;
