Awards Ceremony for the Archdiocesan 2024 Sacred Poetry Contest

We celebrate our Catholic tradition and the arts that spring from that dynamic seed. We offer all people of good will the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow with like-minded writers, students, and appreciators of written words that honor the Trinitarian God.In our mission, we sponsor theCatholic Poetry Society of Houston, theFearless Catholic Writing Camp, and Fearless Catholic After-School Programs.We also host monthly meetings of writers, publishers, and editors associated with the Catholic arts scene. We host mini-retreats combining spiritual reflection and the arts. We invite you to join us! All of our events retain a deep awareness of the spiritual patrimony and treasures of the Church.

Join us in a joyous celebration of the winners of the 2024 Archdiocesan Sacred Poetry Contest.

Jones Hall

Join Catholic Literary Arts to celebrate the winners of the 2024 Archdiocesan Sacred Poetry Contest for sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. The reading by the winners will be at nine a.m. on April 10, 2024 at the University of St. Thomas, Jones Hall, in the auditorium. The 2024 Archdiocesan poet laureate will be named during the ceremony.The celebration will begin with a welcome by UST president, Dr. Richard Ludwick. Then we will all revel in listening to the winning poems written by the young poets in joyous praise of the Eucharistic Presence of Jesus Christ. We welcome the friends and family of our young poets, and we look forward to reconnecting with the incredible teachers and principals of the schools where the students attend full-time.Please register so that we are able to provide coffee and pastries for all guests after the poetry reading. Donations are gratefully accepted. Suggested donation is $15 per person
