Hauser & Wirth was founded in 1992 in Zurich by Iwan Wirth, Manuela Wirth and Ursula Hauser, who were joined in 2000 by Partner and  President Marc Payot. A family business with a global outlook, Hauser & Wirth has expanded over the past 29 years to include outposts in Hong Kong, London, New York, Los Angeles, Somerset, Gstaad, St. Moritz, Southampton (NY), Menorca, and Monaco. Pipilotti’s Salon Series for Gathering

On the occasion of ‘Pipilotti Rist. Prickling Goosebumps & A Humming Horizon', please join us for our Salon Series for Gathering, initiated by Pipilotti Rist.

On the occasion of <a href="https://www.hauserwirth.com/hauser-wirth-exhibitions/pipilotti-rist-1/" title="https://www.hauserwirth.com/hauser-wirth-exhibitions/pipilotti-rist-1/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">'Pipilotti Rist. Prickling Goosebumps &amp; A Humming Horizon'</a>, please join us for the third iteration of our Salon Series for Gathering, initiated by Pipilotti Rist, featuring 'BRAIDS', a living room psychodrama with artist Alex Tatarsky in collaboration with <a href="https://www.poetryproject.org/" title="https://www.poetryproject.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Poetry Project</a>. Within the multisensory experience that is Rist’s immersive exhibition, the Salon Series for Gathering will present multiple opportunities to engage within the installation’s whimsical ‘collective living room.’ For our final salon, trained clown and delinquent poet Alex Tatarsky will treat Rist’s installation as the set, lighting, and sound for an improvised living room psychodrama, generating text and movement for scenic fragments inspired by imagining the furniture itself as the characters. This event is free. However, due to limited space, reservations are required.Please be advised that photographs will be taken at this event for use on the Hauser &amp; Wirth website, social media and in other marketing materials. About Alex Tatarsky Called 'a hilarious, finely tuned absurdist' ('Theatre Jones'), Alex Tatarsky makes performances in the uncomfortable in-between zone of comedy, dance-theater, performance art, and deluded rant--sometimes with songs. Tatarsky experienced fleeting international fame as Andy Kaufman’s daughter and used to perform as a mound of dirt. Playing with perceptions of language and narrative structure, their live performances are highly responsive to venue and audience, often teetering between improvisation and obsessive script. Original shows include 'Americana Psychobabble' at La Mama, 'Dirt Trip' at MoMA PS1, 'Untitled Freakout' at The Kitchen, 'Buttplug Gnome' at Gibney, and 'Sad Boys in Harpy Land' which was commissioned by Abrons Arts Center and recently went on to a sold-out off-Broadway run at Playwrights Horizons. As curatorial fellow at the Poetry Project, Tatarsky organized a series on the poetics of rot. About 'Pipilotti Rist. Goosebumps &amp; A Humming Horizon' Self-described ‘wild and friendly’ Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist presents a selection of new and recent sculptural works and projections in ‘Prickling Goosebumps &amp; a Humming Horizon.' At Hauser &amp; Wirth’s West 22nd Street building, Rist transforms the entire street level space into a ‘living room’ painted in lush reds and vegetal greens. Here guests discover single-channel sculptural video works, including many presented publicly for the first time.Rist, a pioneer of spatial video art, was born 1962 in Grabs in the Swiss Rhine Valley on the Austrian Border and has been a central figure within the international art scene since the mid-1980s.
