Predictive fall prevention systems, Building Systems Integrations, Infection Control Dashboards, Predictive Analytics, Remote Monitoring, and Virtual Care are often viewed outside of the design process in many projects as an owner furnished IT/Biomed issue. Helping facilities incorporate these into the design process improves outcomes by capturing proper clinical workflow, real infrastructure needs and space requirements that are often missed. This session will challenge our traditional planning techniques to incorporate the unpredictable technical elements of advanced AI technologies improving patient care. This panel presentation and discussion will provide key insights from the VP of Technology Services from St Jude Children’s Hospital, Clinical informatics professor from Belmont University, Healthcare Technology Consulting Principal from leading engineering firm, and Clinical Solutions specialist from Technology AI Vendor. Learning Objectives 1. Review examples of facilities incorporating advanced artificial intelligence technologies improving patient safety and health outcomes. 2. Evaluate current AI technology and integrated building system trends impacting workflows and space planning that provide for better patient care. 3. Discuss clinical operations, workflow and processes impacted by AI that must be assessed in designs to improve clinical outcomes. 4. Discuss design strategies to help hospitals/design teams evaluate AI technologies and develop clinically adaptable spaces.
