Boogie by the Barn at the Shafer Farm

The Burkittsville Preservation Association, Inc. is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization developed for the preservation of the Town of Burkittsville and the surrounding agricultural area, its open spaces, history, culture, and architecture. It is dedicated to the preservation of the story of the town and the surrounding areas in which these events took place.

Hamilton Willard Shafer Farm House

The Burkittsville Preservation Association hosts its first concert series, 'Boogie by the Barn' at the Shafer Farm (just outside of Burkittsville, MD) on June 1st, 2024 from 2:00 pm - 6:30 pm (gates open at 1 pm). This event will feature an afternoon of old-time string band music from local bands The Gravy Soppers and The Dargan Benders. There will be a food truck on site serving local food from Whistle Punk Farms (Keedysville, MD), local beer from Smoketown Brewing Station (Brunswick, MD) on tap, and cigars from Traveling Bros Cigars (Brunswick, MD) for sale. BYO lawn chairs and blankets. This is a family friendly event, kids under 12 get in for free. We hope to see you there!
