The mission of the Cannabis Control Commission is to honor the will of the voters of Massachusetts by safely, equitably and effectively implementing and administering the laws enabling access to medical and adult-use marijuana in the Commonwealth.

The Cannabis Control Commission will host Application Clinics for individuals who are interested in applying for its Social Equity Program.

Social Equity Program (SEP) Application Clinics

Learn about the Cannabis Control Commission’s Social Equity Program (SEP) and get assistance with submitting your application for Cohort 4. The Equity Programming & Community Outreach team will be in person to answer questions and share helpful resources.

<h3>The Commission’s Equity Programming and Community Outreach (EPCO) team will host the third of six Application Clinics to support prospective applicants interested in applying for the SEP. The program offers free, statewide technical assistance and training that creates sustainable pathways into the regulated cannabis industry for individuals most impacted by the War on Drugs.</h3>

Commission staff will provide applicants with resources to assist their submission of application materials to the SEP and provide additional information about the program. To learn more about the application process, please visit <a href="https://masscannabiscontrol.com/equity/" title="https://masscannabiscontrol.com/equity/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">masscannabiscontrol.com/equity</a>. <h4>Participants will receive support in the following areas:</h4><ul><li>Creating an account through the online Massachusetts Cannabis Industry Portal (MassCIP), thereby enabling participants to walk away with a fully set-up MassCIP account;</li><li>Understanding eligibility criteria for acceptance into the SEP;</li><li>New Bedford City Officials and staff to share the municipal perspective of the local licensing process.</li><li>Learning about required and accepted documentation;</li><li>Clarifying benefits offered to participants accepted into the SEP; and</li><li>Answers to frequently asked questions.</li></ul> <h4>The following resources also will be available:</h4><ul><li>Investigations and Enforcement staff to answer questions about the Commission’s licensing process;</li><li>Technical assistance and training information, including SEP curriculum course sheets and course descriptions;</li><li><a href="https://www.masscultivated.com/" title="https://www.masscultivated.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">MassCultivatED</a> expungement resources; and</li><li>Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED) staff to discuss the Cannabis Social Equity Trust Fund.</li></ul>

As stated, this is part of a series of six Application Clinics throughout the state. These are informal events which can be tailored to your specific needs including your availability, learning style, location and where you are in your SEP application submission. Each Application Clinic will be similar and offer the same resources and materials.
