About this event

Yin Yoga practice focuses on the breath, with pose holds from three to five minutes. Benefits include increased flexibility, enhanced range of motion and reducing stress.

We work the connective tissues in Yin to regain a youthful movement and calm mind. Yin helps you to find a natural state of mediation that will carry over into your daily life when needed. This practice is incredibly relaxing and will help you to be present in your body and in your life.

Yin Yoga is focused on increasing flexibility. Poses are held from 3 to 5 minutes, allowing the joints, ligaments and fascia to stretch and stimulate growth. Yin promotes improved circulation and range of motion. The breath work leads you to a natural meditation which will help to reduce stress. In time your Yin practice will appear in your daily life, to help cope with anxiety and other daily challenges and allow you to feel strong, and calm. Yin is for everyone, beginners or experienced. It is physically and mentally challenging with incredible benefits from regular practice.

Ramona received her 200-hour Yoga Teacher and Yin certification through Yoga Farm, Ithaca, NY. She has led Yin Yoga at the Vestal Library for 3 years. Ramona has also offered Vinyasa Flow practice out in nature at two local parks! Ramona Is passionate about making Yoga fun, accessible and personal to all who join.

Ramona Lena Says:

I discovered Yoga 24 years ago while pregnant with my first child and looking for a healthy andsafe way to move my new body. Over the years I practiced when opportunity arose and alsotaught children’s classes. I was able to devote to a consistent practice 5 years ago after a major life change. I immediately connected to Yin Yoga and found it healed my emotional and spiritual traumas while helping me connect to me body and breath. Regular practice has given me the ability to handle life stresses and stay grounded in the present moment. I also enjoy and teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga for a more challenging physical practice. I believe Yoga practice to be the healthiest approach to finding peace within your life, learning presence and balancing your physical, emotional and spiritual core.

Testamonial:

Ramona and I started going to a yoga studio pre covid and fell in love with it. During covid when the studio was closed was when she started studying the practice and teaching friends and family. I personally enjoy her teaching style very much. I feel like every studio I've been to I'm taking the same class over and over, but with Ramona she's constantly doing research and coming up with different unique classes. I've attended many classes she's taught and you can tell how that she has a true passion for what she's doing. I'm so grateful to have had her as my teacher for the last several years. She taught at the Vestal library for several years by donations only because she believes that yoga should be available to everyone in community. Tressa
