Experimenta el fascinante mundo de la renombrada fotógrafa y la recipiente del Premio del Legado de Sor Juana de este año, Flor Garduño mientras celebramos su trabajo en un evento exclusivo con una entrevista en directo conducida por la mismísima Sandra Cisneros de Chicago.Desde su juventud, Flor Garduño ha desarrollado su propio estilo y ha buscado la verdad profunda del campo mexicano, aventurándose en la naturaleza muerta, el desnudo femenino, el retrato y la arquitectura, siempre en una búsqueda perpetua de los límites sutiles de lo imaginario; un retrato de las raíces de las culturas mágicas. El puente entre el momento presente y los siglos que han pasado se encuentra en los ojos de aquellos que los han presenciado: el agua, los árboles, la tierra y el aire. Al incorporar estos poderosos elementos naturales a su fotografía, Flor evoca la presencia de los horizontes y soles de la América indígena. Flor crea sus propias reglas, con el objetivo continuo de provocar una emoción profunda. Con el marco de su fotografía construido, Flor persevera en la tarea de tomar fotos que no sólo revelan sino que capturan un lugar de revelación.La entrevista se realizará en español.—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Experience the mesmerizing world of renowned photographer and this year’s Sor Juana Legacy Award recipient, Flor Garduño, as we celebrate her work in an interview with Chicago’s very own Sandra Cisneros. Since her youth, Flor Garduño has developed her own style and sought the profound truth of the Mexican countryside, venturing into still life, the female nude, portraiture, and architecture, always in a perpetual search for the subtle boundaries of the imaginary; a portrait of the roots of magical cultures. The bridge between the present moment and the centuries that have passed lies in the eyes of those that have witnessed them--the water, trees, earth, and air. By incorporating these powerful natural elements in her photography, Garduño evokes the presence of indigenous America’s horizons and suns. Garduño makes her own rules, continually aiming to elicit some deep emotion. With the framework of her photography built, she perseveres in the task of taking photos that not only reveal but rather capture a place of revelation. Please note the interview will be conducted in Spanish.
