This presentation will provide a comprehensive understanding of cross-cultural communication. It will explore emotions, shared communication, will highlight challenges and how to navigate them, such as language barriers. Strategies will be presented on how to have successful cross–cultural interactions, and the positive impact it can have on the families that Early Childhood Professionals work with. We will explore real life situations by sharing anecdotes and case studies to illustrate challenges as well as successful cross-cultural communication with a focus on the human connection.</h3><p><br></p><h2>Objectives:</h2><h3>The participants will be able to…</h3><h3>1. Analyze cultural practices, values, and communication styles' impact on cross-cultural interactions.</h3><h3>2. Apply empathy in communication to mitigate misunderstandings and respect diversity.</h3><h3>3. Evaluate misinterpretation, fostering collaboration and robust cross-cultural relationships.</h3><h3>4. The processing fee is non-refundable.</h3><h2><br></h2><h2>Speaker's Bio</h2><h3>Dina David is an accomplished communication scholar, educator, and speech mentor with over two decades experience in the field. She is a Senior Associate Faculty at the Communication department at IUPUI. Dina David earned her Bachelor's Degree in English Linguistics and Literature from Seminar Hakibutizm, Israel and a Master's Degree from Butler University in Telecommunication Arts.</h3><p><br></p><h3>Dina David is known for her engaging teaching style and her commitment to student success. Her innovative courses on communication theory, speech, cross cultural communication and global communication strategies inspire students to think critically and creatively about the role of communication in today’s interconnected world. She actively promotes diversity and intercultural communication in her classrooms. In addition to her academic pursuits, she speaks at conferences and events where she shares her insights and thoughts on the evolving landscape of cross-cultural communication in a diverse world. She is the Sales and Marketing Manager of Blocks Rock.</h3><p><br></p><h3><br></h3><h2>Host's Bio</h2><h3>Dr. Mesh is a clinical psychologist and the co-author of the book “Early Childhood Assessment: A Practical Guide to Psychological and Developmental Evaluations in the Early Intervention Program.” He has worked with families for over 30 years. Dr. Mesh is the Co-Founder and CEO of Los Niños Services, an award-winning Early Childhood Special Education program in New York City, and the Founder of Young Child Learning which provides professional development to teachers and all professionals working with young children. He consults with professionals and parents on the challenges they face in helping young children achieve their full potential. Dr. Mesh is the author of upcoming book Tapas: Tasty Inspirational Poems(www.inspire.nyc).</h3><h2><br></h2><h2>Special Accommodations or Requests.</h2><h3>Individuals with disabilities in need of special accommodations should contact the Admin, Cari Laroza at (212) 787-9700 ext. 3330 to make a request.
