JAMDOCS: Five Star Senior Center

The Jewish and Muslim Day of Community Service was developed in 2010 out of a partnership between the Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis and the Jewish Community Relations Council. The event takes place on Christmas to give recurring volunteers the opportunity to celebrate the holiday with their families, while also strengthening the relationship between the Jewish and Muslim communities. Now in its 7th year, the program has continued to grow year after year and we are excited and grateful to have you here with us!

Five Star Senior Center

Five Star Center is dedicated to supporting the health and independence of seniors and adults with disabilities so they may live as independently as possible with dignity and respect. Founded in 1976 by five neighborhood churches in South City, the collaboration is now an independent, non-sectarian nonprofit that continues to provide transportation, meal delivery, referral services and a community gathering site.
On Christmas Day, volunteers will deliver hot meals to the homes of clients on predetermined routes, with each vehicle delivering several meals. A reliable vehicle for meal delivery is required, although each car can include multiple people. 
If possible, we will try to match those without a car with drivers, along with those looking to work in teams with members of other faiths. Capacity: 25 drivers. Please register per vehicle.
