JAMDOCS: Independence Center

The Jewish and Muslim Day of Community Service was developed in 2010 out of a partnership between the Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis and the Jewish Community Relations Council. The event takes place on Christmas to give recurring volunteers the opportunity to celebrate the holiday with their families, while also strengthening the relationship between the Jewish and Muslim communities. Now in its 7th year, the program has continued to grow year after year and we are excited and grateful to have you here with us!

Independence Center

The center, located in the Central West End, serves adults with severe and persistent mental illness in the St. Louis area to help them live and work, independently and with dignity, in the community.
Volunteers will help cook and serve a holiday brunch at Independence Center’s clubhouse and visit with its members. 
 Capacity: 15 volunteers
