About this event

One-day in-person workshop led by Wael Morcos

  • March 4, 2024, 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Location: Room 284, VCUarts Qatar
  • Upon Registration Only

This workshop is a creative exercise challenging participants to craft an 8-page A5 zine by combining type and images sourced from contemporary magazines.

Responding to the prompt “What do you wish you could read about but never see?” Each participant will create four A4 collage compositions folded into an 8-page booklet. The collective outcomes will be photocopied and compiled into one zine, representing the combined results of the class.

The session aims to inspire participants to explore and reinterpret cultural production around them, fostering a fresh perspective on topics of personal interest through the manipulation of form and content.

The workshop is the continuation of Arabic Lettering Workshop #18: Under Construction from March 3, 2024, 1:30-5:30 PM.
