Reviving Third Places – a case study of an Education City cultural heritage

We will observe the wider spatial and social dynamics of Education City and, from the gathered information and as an evaluation of the current site, propose design interventions that can improve the space for its current users, as well as make it more attractive for Education City residents, users and visitors.The primary goal of this Placemaking exercise is to – through small design interventions – contribute to repurposing of this site, focusing on the critical role that “third places” can play in strengthening the sense of communities.Through a Placemaking exercise, the participants will learn how to map and evaluate a place based on sociability, accessibility, uses, and levels of comfort.
