In Other People's Shoes Productions launched in 2021 to tell imaginative, impactful and artistic stories for young people and families from all walks of life.We've been working with wonderful artists to develop new work for young people, and are delighted to share our projects in development, through a series of SHOW &amp; TELL events. Because sharing our process is integral to who we are as a company, we'll be SHOWING you parts of the show in progress, as well as TELLING you about the process!Our first in the series is The Wondrous Adventures of Pia Sandia by José Cruz González. The Wondrous Adventures of Pia Sandia is a theatrical mash-up for young audiences and families aged 10 and up, fusing together Musical Theatre, Puppetry, Toy Theatre, Magic, Graphic Novel and Digital Media. The piece follows a 10-year-old Latinx girl hero named Pia who is mourning the passing of her godfather and best friend Nino Jesse to Covid-19. Pia is visited by the Hummingbird Wizard, who seeks her help. They are carried away to a mythical land called Tlaxlandia, where plants and animals have become divided because of their new teenage ruler. Pia never uses violence or confrontation to succeed but discovers that curiosity and empathy are her true superpowers. The play explores how children negotiate loss and healing, while celebrating the human spirit and unlikely heroes.Playwright José Cruz González and Director Robert Castro will be joined by a cohort of artistic collaborators who have contributed to the development of the piece. We'll be sharing some scenes and music and telling you the story of how this piece is coming to life.Our SHOW &amp; TELL will include an opportunity for you to ask questions and to join the artists at a reception following the presentation.
