Armijo High School Garden Tree Guild Volunteer Workday (Day 2 of 2)

Sustainable Solano is a grassroots, countywide movement uniting people through work that aims to serve the future of Solano County, to promote ecologically regenerative, economically and socially just communities in a world that works for everyone. We nurture initiatives for the good of the whole. Sustainable Solano has grown out of decades of dedicated community work that started with community gardens and has grown to include an emphasis on creating sustainable, regenerative environments, community capacity building, supporting local food systems and building youth leadership and workforce skills for a better future.

Help Armijo's community garden plant three new trees and companion plants and replace a wind-blocking shrub!

Join us on March 15 from 3:30pm-5:30pm to support the Armijo garden in planting new trees, shrubs, and companion plants! This is a great opportunity to learn about permaculture practices, such as companion planting and the ins and outs of tree guilds, and the benefits of hedgerows in gardens where wind can be strong.This public, hands-on installation workshop will be held to plant a few new fruit trees, add one new guild, and replace 2 wind-blocking shrubs. Join us the week before, on March 8, to support in treating their crabgrass and planting Spring annuals!
