Join Peter Luongo at Melody Makers Ukulele Lab for a fun-filled evening of music for all ages.

Franklin Park Baptist Church, Nicholson Road, Sewickley, PA, USA

This evening's workshop and concert for ukulele players in grades 4-8, and their ensemble leaders, is perfect for anyone looking to open their musician's ear and improve their overall ukulele playing, singing, and musicianship. Attendees and their teachers can expect to learn 2-3 easily performable tunes; we'll perform these at our informal concert, followed by a set by the Legacy Ukulele Ensemble.

Agenda

With over 40 years of ukulele ensemble leadership, Peter Luongo will guide your students in creating 2-3 arrangements to perform this evening. He'll help students grow all aspects of their musicianship with just 4 strings, showcasing how a simple instrument can bring underscore deep understanding of the world of music. We'll spend time on melody, harmony, rhythm, singing, and a little bit of theory, playing songs that span pop and the classics. Students will walk away with tunes they can perform right away; teachers and group leaders will walk away with techniques immediately applicable to their classrooms, clubs, and ensembles. Students will learn and perform side-by-side with the Legacy Ukulele Ensemble.

Melodies and More!

Please bring your own drink and fruit, salad, or other snack to supplement 2 slices of pizza. We will be providing cheese or pepperoni pizza for workshop attendees.

Dinner Break

All attendees will perform the songs they've been working this evening. This will be followed by a short set from the Legacy Ukuleles that showcases how the techniques you've learned are applied in an ensemble setting.
