She worked as a veterinarian before going on to pursue a PhD in infectious diseases. In 2009, Xavier and her husband identified a niche in the cosmetics industry. They noticed friends and family in Brazil frequently requested makeup products that were, at that time, not available in Brazil. They realized they could produce makeup brushes that were in high demand with better quality and at a better price.During this time, her husband was involved in the product development, import, and export of painting tools. With Xavier’s trends and market analysis and Filho’s knowledge on how to create brushes, they launched Sigma Beauty in 2009 with a single brush set that instantly captured a cult following and sold out. Today, Xavier oversees creative direction, product development, marketing, design, photography, and visual merchandising. About <a href="https://odelebeauty.com/pages/about" title="https://odelebeauty.com/pages/about" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Lindsay Holden</a>:Lindsay is a retail professional and sales savant, with over 20 years of experience, including eight years serving as a Senior Buyer for Target corporation. She’s the ultimate connecter of people, community builder, value maximizer, and sales driver. Minnesota-born and bred, Lindsay, her husband Blake, and their three kids call Minneapolis home.Along with Lindsay’s co-founders, Britta Chatterjee and Shannon Kearney, Odele (the brand is name is a riff on the Norwegian phrase"å dele" which means “to share”) launched to disrupt retailer shelves with a product that spoke to the need the co-founders saw on the market for an all-inclusive, gender-neutral salon-grade haircare line that was safe for all who share your shower…and disrupt retailer shelves, they did. Odele reached profitability within their first six months of business and has earned a multitude of accolades from BeautyIndependent, NewBeauty, Self, Women’s Health, Cosmopolitan, People, Real Simple, and Essence, among others. About <a href="https://www.getwelly.com/pages/about" title="https://www.getwelly.com/pages/about" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Annie Litin</a>:Anne Litin is an award-winning, independent designer and art director based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has worked within the commercial and advertising design worlds for brands such as Target, Google, HP, Apple—as well as small to mid-range companies and start-ups. She’s been featured, published, and exhibited work for numerous local, national and international design shows, and publications.Since 2007 she has been managing and flourishing in the freelance world, and since 2021 has been the design lead with consumer packaged goods brand Welly with a small and mighty team of creatives. From product development and packaging design, to brand campaign and product launches, she manages and leads design and creative direction for the overarching brand, products, and initiatives. About <a href="https://raewellness.co/pages/about" title="https://raewellness.co/pages/about" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Angie Tebbe</a>:Angie Tebbe is the co-founder and CEO of Rae Wellness. A fruitful 13-year career at one of the world’s most recognizable retailers, a lifelong commitment to well-being, and an endless thirst for knowledge led Angie to start Rae Wellness, a holistic wellness company that is committed to well-being for all by providing natural supplements at affordable price points.At a young age, Angie learned how to meditate and developed a curiosity for wellness. In 2018, a period of reflection sparked the idea of Rae Wellness. She gave up her title-holder role at Target, dusted off her father’s books, and decided to pursue a new path.
