Salon No. III: Cigars, Whiskey & Live Music

Fine Tobacco Club was founded in 2009 in New York City as “Fine Tobacco NYC.” It began with a simple goal: to bring together cigar smokers to appreciate the art and craft of fine tobacco together. What started as a few friends learning about cigars together has become perhaps the largest regularly meeting cigar group in the world. Each month, we bring together anyone who loves cigars, libations, and good conversation for cigar and spirits pairings, live jazz events, summer rooftop events, new product releases and more. After more than 200 gatherings over 10 years, Fine Tobacco Club now seeks to bring new experiences, friendships, and products to fine tobacco lovers everywhere.

In a world of dizzying change, true wealth is found when we are grounded in the wisdom and richness of the past.
Join us Saturday, Feb 10th at 1:30pm at Casa de Montecristo for the third event in our Salon Series, where we blend the pleasures of cigars, libations, and live music in a refined setting. This gathering, inspired by the historic Parisian salons known for their rich cultural exchanges, offers a relaxed afternoon of enjoyment and exploration of the finer things in life.At Salon No. III, we're featuring the live music of Frank Bell, whose background in classical cello, songwriting, and folk guitar will bring a unique blend of sounds to our event. Frank's talent for capturing a wide range of emotions through his music makes him a perfect fit for the intimate atmosphere of our salon.Guests will also taste a trio of whiskies from Penelope Bourbon, including their Four Grain, Rosé Cask Finish, and Architect expressions, each chosen for their distinct character. Fine Tobacco NYC founder Matthias Clock will lead spirits education.Cigars can be purchased at Casa de Montecristo, and for the bourbon pairing we suggest starting with the new Rocky Patel ALR II blend created specially for Casa de Montecristo. The event is designed to be a peaceful retreat from the everyday, where good music, fine whisky, and quality cigars create a memorable afternoon. The setting is conducive to quiet conversation and personal reflection, true to the spirit of the original salon gatherings. We encourage attendees to bring a copy of their favorite book, a notepad for journaling, or a friend or partner for stimulating discussion.Tickets30 seats available for this Saturday afternoon experience! Tickets are $30 early bird and $40 online, $50 at door. Ticket includes live music presentation and flight tasting of Penelope Bourbons.
Know Before You Go

Cigars can be purchased at Casa de Montecristo's impressive walk in humidor. A separate email prior to the event will be sent with suggestions on cigars fitting the occasion.

Originally a classically-trained cellist, Frank later expanded his instrumental arsenal as a way to further express himself as an artist. As an outlet, Frank began posting videos of his songs on YouTube, which brought him international attention after being featured on their homepage in 2007. Since then he has recorded and released 2 albums, and is currently working on his 3rd. Frank's distinctive voice and remarkable knack for expressing an endless gamut of emotions continue to garner him much deserved acclaim. With an industry so often over-saturated with glitz and glam, meaning and substance is often lost. Frank Bell is a refreshing break from the norm.

In 2018 Mike Paladini and his wife Kerry had a daughter named Penelope. Their bourbon label was created in her namesake. Founded alongside Danny Polise, Polise and Paladini case distill and age their product in Indiana at MGP using the expert blending and bottling assistance from Castle Rock in Kentucky. Our trio of whiskies for the afternoon will showcase modifications to the original Penelope Four Grain Bourbon, including the influence of French Oak Staves and Rose Cask Finishing.
