About this event

Dr. Colin “Topper” Carew, filmmaker/scholar/researcher, was born and raised in Roxbury section of Boston. Dr. Carew’s latest project, “This Little Light of Mine,” was recently sent up to the International Space Station to be broadcast back to earth for all to see. Dr. Carew is an alum of the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science (formerly Boston Technical High School) where he was a student of John O’Bryant and was impacted by his positive guidance. Dr. Carew attended Howard University, MIT and received a doctorate in communications from the Union Graduate School/Institute for Policy Studies.

To kickstart Black History Month Dr. Carew, creator of the famous television series “Martin,” will be joining us Monday January 5th at lunchtime to have a conversation about his career, his time with John O’Bryant and the importance of preserving Black History.
