The UVA Club of Tampa Bay invites all alumni, friends, and families to join us for a discussion with Howard Epstein, Chair of the Department of Environmental Sciences. We look forward to hearing about his current research efforts in the arctic tundra of North America and Russia, in addition to the temperate forests of the Mid-Atlantic.
The Arctic is arguably changing faster than any other place on Earth. Temperature increases in the Arctic are up to four times greater than the global average. During our discussion, we will explore the Arctic and its elements--to help us examine how they work together in a complex, vibrant, and dynamic system that has connections to the rest of the world.
