<h2>About the Artists &amp; Projects</h2><h3>Emma Andre</h3>About the work from Emma Andre: "This piece is an exploration of my relationship with femininity as I’ve journeyed through my life. Using music as a catalyst I will explore the freedom I felt in my childhood, the contradictory expectations put on young women, and the deconstruction of these ideals culminating in the reconstruction of my authentic self."Emma Andre (they/she) is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher based in Oakland. They graduated from Boston Conservatory with a BFA in contemporary dance in 2021. After graduating Emma lived in NYC as a freelance performer and teacher. Since moving to Oakland, Emma has been focusing on her choreographic pursuits. <h3>Andrea Rodriguez</h3>Andrea Rodriguez will present “La Rumba No Para” (The Rumba Doesn’t Stop), a salsa love story about growing up in San Francisco, La Misión. Created by Andrea Rodriguez, the piece traverses through the streets surrounding 24th Street, where a melding of family secrets, culture, Latinx music and dance are explored through the themes of love, loss, and addiction.Andrea Rodriguez is a Latina-Xicana-Mexican American multidisciplinary dance artist, choreographer, pilates instructor, actress, and filmmaker. Her artistic process stems from breaking the silence of substance abuse and mental health in the Latinx community by healing generational trauma through dance, theater, spoken word, video, and technology.

<h2>About the Performance Format</h2>This event will be a hybrid event, with a livestream and a limited in-person capacity. Tickets to this event are by donation (suggested $15 - $50 for in-person). Proceeds support the Residency program and Studio 210, helping us continue to offer this opportunity to performing artists throughout the greater Bay Area. If you are unable to donate at this time, but would like to attend, please email residency@deborahslater.org to arrange free attendance. <h3>In-Person</h3>Studio 210 will offer 25 tickets per night for in-person admission, PRE-SALE ONLY. TICKETS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR. Ticket sales will close at 7am PT on the day of the performance.<ul><li>Wearing a mask is strongly encouraged, but not required.</li><li>Studio 210 is located at 3435 Cesar Chavez, #210, San Francisco. Please see below for accessibility details.</li></ul> <h3>Livestream</h3>The performance event will be live-streamed to YouTube, where attendees can chat and comment on the performance. Ticketholders will be emailed a link to the livestream 30 minutes prior the performance and at the performance start time. An account is not required to view the livestream; however, to participate in the comments, users must have a google account and be signed in when accessing the livestream. <h4>Accessibility Info</h4>Studio 210 is on the second floor of the building, only accessible via stairs (20 steps). Studio 210 is experiencing construction and is currently NOT wheelchair accessible. Seating is armless chairs. There is one gender neutral bathroom down the hall from Studio 210 (~100 feet from the studio).Directions will be sent to ticketholders prior to the performance. There is no parking lot or designated parking; Studio 210 is approximately 1/2 mile from the 24th St. BART station and there is very limited street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.Please email residency@deborahslater.org with accessibility questions.
