The first hour will be a class for beginning screenwriters to understand basic screenplay structure and get an intro to writing groups and writing rooms.In the next two hours we'll move to advanced topics, discussing what it takes to get in and stay in a writer's room, as well as how to work with a writing group and give and receive great feedback.In the final hour we'll divide into groups that move forward together and take your writing to the next level!In this workshop we will explore basic story structure, the difference between writing groups and writer's rooms, advice from other writers who have been in the room; how to get the job, keep the job and stay sane. She'll give you helpful guidelines on getting and receiving feedback and how to structure a productive writer's group. KATHRYN GOULDKathryn is an award-winning writer represented by Verve Talent Agency and Kinetic Media Talent Management. She is currently in development on an animated TV series based on some James Patterson novels with Axis Entertainment (Love, Death and Robots, Scrooge: A Christmas Carol (2022)), an animated family feature with animation director Alex Orrelle (The Incredibles, Space Jam 2, Klaus), and an animated series with Snowball Studios (Muppet Babies, Barbie: Dreamtopia). She has worked on multiple animated projects with companies like Baobab Studios, Barajoun Entertainment in Dubai, and Filmallee Studios in Munich, and was one of the writers on the Colorado-based feature film Apartment 212 starring Penelope Mitchell, Kyle Gass and Sally Kirkland. She has a degree in English and Psychology from Stanford and a Master’s in Family and Child Studies from Northern Illinois and is the co-founder and current Development Chair of Women in Film and Media Colorado.
