We "hear each other into speech"**, reclaim power, &amp; stand in the fullness of the collective wisdom we've gained through resilience.In 2020 I started hosting circle space for white folks to connect and dismantle internalized white supremacy, through song + stories + embodiment. I see this kind of exclusionary invite as a humble and necessary-for-now baby step on the freedom journey and not an ultimate destination as much as a compassionate step on the journey. My experience so far is that my own un-grieved oppressions block me from supporting my kin's full liberation. My heart's desire is that by creating a subset space of people with similar backgrounds/ oppression patterns, the bravery + support + understanding experienced will generate greater emotional bandwidth to show up for trans people and people of color. I’m also thinking about who I have the capacity to ‘hold well’ based in my own growth and blind spots. I taught yoga from 2012 til pandemic, and have been carrying song as prayer since 2014. I love gathering us, grounded in the goodness of our bodies' Knowing and held in the web of life.
