FASHION FLAT DRAWINGS: "Party Dresses"

Join us in one of our hands-on courses that will teach you the foundational skills needed to construct simple textile items including home goods and apparel. Our classes are  perfect for the aspiring sewist who is curious to try sewing or the self-taught sewist who would like to increase their knowledge and technical skill set!

Rightfully Sewn

In Fashion flat drawings "Party Dresses", students will focus on drawing the details of the outfits and pieces of a party dress.

Rightfully Sewn (Interim Location)

In Fashion Flats: Party Dresses you will learn all about the basics of creating a crucial part of any collection. Fashion Flats are design sketches used by fashion designers as a tool in creating their designs. They are line drawings showing seam lines and detail placement on a garment. Flats can be hand drawn or computer generated, but they usually feature the front and back of a garment, and capture the silhouette of a design in 2 dimensions, as opposed to a 3-D illustration on a model.Only 8 places!Students will:<ul><li>Learn to draw fashion flats by hand</li><li>Learn why fashion flats are important for your collection;</li><li>Practice drawing the little details of your line</li><li>Learn from instructor demonstrations/tutorials.</li><li>Draw and receive instructor feedback.</li><li>Create and take-home corrected fashion illustrations to work from in the future.</li></ul>Paper, pencils, and a 3-ring notebook with sheet protectors will be provided to first-time students. Returning students should bring their notebook with them to class so that they may add to their portfolio.It is also recommended that students bring any additional art supplies they desire such as colored pencils, watercolors, or markers.Class is taught by Fashion Designer/Illustrator, Camille Alexandria. *This class is an excellent companion to any of the Model Drawing classes also taught by Camille Alexandria.
