The Colorado Sun is a nonprofit newsroom that produces investigative, watchdog, explanatory and long-form journalism to ensure that all Coloradans have access to the information they need to be informed citizens.News is a public good, and we seek to build Coloradans’ greater understanding of the state’s people, policies, and places through in-depth, nonpartisan coverage of everything from politics and culture to the outdoor industry and the environment. Join The Colorado Sun&#x27;s new book club as we explore an award-winning novel and hear from the author. This month: Rory Kress, author of &quot;The Doggie in the Window&quot;When Rory Kress brought home Izzy, she assumed her new dog was a blank slate. But her fur-baby&#x27;s traits prompted her to look deeper and wonder where, exactly, she had come from. That led Rory—with Izzie by her side—on a nationwide investigation, the first of its kind. From a dog livestock auction to the laboratory of one of the world’s leading animal behavioral scientists all the way up to the highest echelons of the USDA, they sought answers about who we’re trusting to be the watchdog for our pet dogs.The Colorado Sun Book Club and BookBar present a monthly opportunity for readers to interact with authors in the store’s intimate and welcoming setting.
