Join us to learn how to observe cells and then paint your discoveries!

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory | DNA Learning Center

Art and illustration are tools to help visualize scientific research. At Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, scientists actively research plant and animal cell organelles to make discoveries. Using microscopes to observe plant and animal cells, you will make a sketch and then paint your cell portrait!In this activity, participants will:<ul><li>use microscopes to visualize cells;</li><li>learn about important organelles of both plant and animal cells;</li><li>use watercolors to make a portrait of cells; and</li><li>learn how art can convey scientific ideas.</li></ul>Ages 10-13, one adult chaperone 18 or older required. Chaperones must purchase a ticket and fully participate in all program activities.
