Join us on Sunday, April 21, 2024 for Jazz in the Mills, featuring The Thad Wilson Octet, at the Other Barn in Oakland Mills, Columbia, MD. The Thad Wilson Octet will bring the nostalgia sounds of the Harlem Renaissance intermixed with original music for a musical journey like no other. Thad Wilson is known for leading the 'most adventurous band around' according to the Washington Post. For the past 25 years, he has been committed to preserving the tradition of big band music in Washington DC by way of his 16-piece jazz orchestra. In addition to his notoriety as a band leader, he portrayed Louis Armstrong in the musical theatre production of Ella which toured nationally from 2008-2012. He will pay homage to Satchmo on both trumpet and vocals for Jazz in the Mills patrons to enjoy on April 21st!ADVANCE TICKETS ONLY.Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online and at The Other Barn.Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. No outside food or beverages are allowed.Must have ticket. No Exceptions, No Refunds or Replacements.Jazz in the Mills is sponsored by Ms. Lavenia Nesmith and the Oakland Mills Community Association.The concert venue, the Other Barn, is handicap accessible with the concert on the 2nd floor of the venue.
