How old does my student need to be to participate in the GWC club and attend a meetup?

Students in grades 6 through 12 are welcome.

Are boys allowed to participate?

While Girls Who Code clubs are designed for female participants, students of any gender are welcome. Being designed for girls means that GWC curricula considers biases that may impact girls' experiences and focuses on women in tech so that girls can imagine themselves in computing roles.

Question 3

Does my student need to bring anything?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Students should bring a positive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to have fun. Students are also welcome to bring a laptop, however we have devices that can be borrowed if needed.

What will students learn?

Girls Who Code club members will learn about computer science concepts, and just as importantly, they'll learn that they have a community in the computer science space! GWC curricula include activities for students with no computer science experience all the way up to college-level concepts.

What is the cost?
