It is fun to have fun, but you have to know how!

Come celebrate Read Across America Week at an Epic Literacy Event, fun for the whole family! This will be an event where Epic families can celebrate the joy of reading with our staff, teachers, and a few surprise visitors. But that is not all. Oh no. That is not all! The day will be full of zizzer-zazzer-zuzz and gluppity-glup, and a whole host of other collywobble activities. Read on to find out what to expect at this event. Because these things are fun and fun is good!

Reading Corner: You'll meet some special friends and listen as they read books to our students in a cozy reading corner. The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go!

Book Walk: Use your mind and your muscles as you read your way to a healthier you! Read to go and go to read, participate at each station and fill your passport with speed. Epic students will receive a FREE tshirt for participating in the Book Walk. (While supplies last.) So be sure when you step, Step with care and great tact. And remember that life is a great balancing act.

Resource Fair: Connect with Community Resources for your family and students and visit Epic Literacy Vendors.

Care Closet: Hop into our community care closet and find many things to meet your families needs. You’ll miss the best things if you keep your eyes shut!

Book Giveaway: Stop by our book giveaway and grab your reading certificate for being an excellent reader! Oh the things you can find if you don't stay behind!

And don't miss a chance to chat with representatives from several Epic departments. You have brains in your head and feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.

You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read with a child.

This is a come and go event. Doors open at 1:00 pm and the event will conclude at 3:00 pm. Make sure you arrive in time to enjoy all of the activities!

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Upon arrival, please check in with an Epic staff member who will be located inside the front entrance. You don't need to bring a paper ticket, we can check you in digitally at the door!

ITINERARY:

• 12:30 Check-in Begins
• 1:00 Event Begins
• 3:00 Event Ends

The event will last 2 hours. As families arrive, we encourage you to participate in all activities on site for the duration of the event! You can enjoy each activitiy in any order you wish.

CHECK IN TIME: Families are welcome to begin arriving at 12:30 pm to check in for the event. All activities will begin at 1:00 pm.

POLICIES: This activity is free. You will register for a ticket using Eventbrite which will hold your spot for the field trip as a reservation. This enables the school and the participating location to staff and plan appropriately.

This event is intended for students in grades PK-12th.

Students cannot be dropped off to attend this event without a parent or guardian. You will need your student’s Epic ID number and teacher’s name when signing up for the field trip in Eventbrite.

CANCELLATIONS: As a reminder, if you sign up to come but are unable to make it, please cancel your reservation using your Eventbrite confirmation email. This will open up spots for other families.

Inclement Weather Plan: If we have inclement weather we will send out communication by email from Eventbrite to let you know if the field trip has been canceled.
