Let loose and splash paint around in this 2-day class using techniques that allow watercolors to perform their magic.

Let loose and splash the paint around with award winning artist, Donna Miller Haggerty. She will share her techniques that allow the unique quality of watercolors to perform their magic. By using a variety of textures you will encourage the paints to mingle and create exciting and explosive compositions. Learn to add a bit of sparkle and surprise to artwork. From nature subjects to non-objective abstracts, will be topics covered in this 2 day workshop. Experiment using a variety of materials like salts, wraps, tapes, waxes, masks, coffee, aquarelle pencils, iridescent paints, and more. This class is suited for all levels. Beginners are encouraged - no drawing is required. All texture supplies and sparkle colors will be provided. Students need to bring a bag lunch and the followingWatercolor Brushes; sm., med., large and a rigger brushWatercolor paints; Your favorite colors (I like ones that granulate like Daniel Smith)Arches 140 Lb. cold press watercolor paper* 12” x 16” and 10” x 14”Regular pencil or a Derwent* water-soluble 2B graphitone pencilA black water soluble pencil* like Stabilo or Faber-Castell Artist masking fluid (I prefer Daniel Smith with applicator tips)Water container, spray bottle, sponge, old toothbrush, scissors, paper towels Paint boards – up to 16” x 20” I prefer plastic but use what you have.
