The History of Hearts in Art: Valentine’s Day LectureEver wonder why we associate hearts with Valentine’s Day and with love? Join author and writer Kim Keeline to learn more about the history of hearts in art. A former English professor, <a href="https://kimkeeline.com/about/" title="https://kimkeeline.com/about/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Kim Keeline</a> gave up teaching to pursue other passions, including writing. She has a novel in the works, and several short stories published, including “The Crossing” which appears in the March 2020 San Diego Sisters in Crime anthology Crossing Borders.

This talk is being held during Rare Books LA - Pasadena.For the love of books! Rare Books LA – Pasadena welcomes booksellers and bibliophiles from around the world to share their love of books, fine prints, maps, ephemera, and more on February 3-4, 2024 at the Pasadena Convention Center. “This book fair is a can’t miss whether you’re searching for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the book lover in your life or just want to spend a fun and educational day with a loved one,” said Rare Books LA Director Jodi Tolan. In addition to rare books, visitors will see everything from historic maps and original artwork to artist’s books and punk zines. “There is something for everyone all under one roof.” Rare Books LA is also hosting a series of bookish talks at the event, all included with the price of admission. Tickets range from $15-25. A special “Booklovers” package for $40 includes a pair of weekend passes to the fair, a limited edition book bag, and a red rose upon entry for that special someone.
