Advancements in Riding Posture with Dr. Maria Katsamanis

Dr. Maria Katsamanishas received worldwide recognition as a horse trainer, clinician, exhibition rider, and author. Her background in biofeedback and psychophysiology is central to her teaching and training approach. Dr. Maria uses her education as a clinical scientist to help demystify and explain the elements of a magical formula that are key in establishing the ultimate connection with our horses. She has over 30 publications in the area of psychophysiology including heart rate variability biofeedback, vagus nerve function, mental stress and workload, and human factors research.  She is also the author of the equestrian text titled "Riding in Dignity" and has co-authored "The Alchemy of Lightness."Dr. Maria holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and maintains an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rutgers Medical School. She also holds an International degree in Equine Osteopathy and an advanced certification in Posture therapy.  She is the creator of theOptiPosture™ assessmentand theMythos Tack Collectionintroducing a saddle designed to optimize riding posture and balance while addressing the horses comfort. Her comprehensive theory and ground breaking assessment gives her a “gamechanger” way to approach biomechanics and balance for both horse and rider.
