A monthly meetup with the authors of 111 Places in Women's History That You Must Not Miss in Washington, DC.  Kaitlin Calogera and Rebecca Grawl share readings and reflections of their work.

THE DETAILS: A recording of the program will be available for one week before expiring. The TOHO Book Club generally meets the last Monday of every month from 8p-9p EST. Each session is led by the authors of 111 Places in Women's History That You Must Not Miss in Washington, DC. Kaitlin Calogera and Rebecca Grawl will share historical readings, behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and personal reflections of their work. Each meeting focuses on 11 chapters and will cover the entirety of the book in the 10-month span between January-October 2024. Storytelling is our strength and exploring places is our passion but as our careers and perspectives grew, we felt compelled to reframe the narrative. In order to bring history forward, women deserved better representation in public spaces. 111 Places in Women's History was our pandemic project. During a time of prohibited travel, we pivoted to transfer tourism from the streets of DC onto the pages of this book. With intention, we designed a guidebook that would promote and rebuild the tourism and hospitality industries after COVID-19. With pride, we showcased sites that would express the character and legacy of our capital city. With respect, we wrote stories that would honor women who broke ceilings and crawled on glass for us.
