U﻿p Next at the Hall is a music series that was developed by the Kenilworth Assembly Hall with famed talent booker Chris Anderson (Fulton Street Collective). The Assembly Hall boasts incredibly rich sounds that emanate from its wood floors and ceilings. The acoustics are truly one of a kind. We pursue local artists from the Chicago area to show off their musical chops during one of our scheduled concerts. We hope you will consider purchasing a very low cost ticket to attend a truly once in a lifetime music experience at the Kenilworth Assembly Hall. Join us and bring your friends for an amazing First Friday night performance celebrating The Pretenders catalogue and More. REAL PRETENDERSReal Pretenders are four Chicago music scene veterans with a passion for the hard driving rhythms, catchy melodic hooks, soul-tortured lyrics, and back alley sex appeal that characterize the music of the Pretenders. They aren’t a costume act and they don’t play the original members of the band as characters. Instead, these established players with audiences of their own have come together to thread the musical needle between faithfully rendering the Pretender’s sound and joyfully harnessing these timeless and lustful pop rock gems as a means to expressing their own musical identity. Not only do they take on both the band’s classics and deep cuts, they also offer a new take on songs covered by the Pretenders as well as those that perhaps might have been. Real Pretenders aren’t simply a tribute to the music of the Pretenders, they are a tribute to their essential spirit. Do not miss. There is ample parking on the streets that surround the building (Cumnor Rd., Kenilworth Ave., and Richmond Rd.) Additionally, parking is located at any train commuter spot on Richmond Rd. Don't like to drive? The Assembly Hall is RIGHT across the street from the Kenilworth Train Station.
