Heather Houston is a Santa Cruz-based song leader, choral director, recording artist, and vocal empowerment coach with over 30 years of experience in uplifting hearts and building community through the power of song. Founder of the Yala Lati Women’s Choir and creator of the Sisters in Harmony Retreats, Heather leads transformative singing experiences both in person and online, including at venues like Esalen, Sivananda Bahamas, and 1440 Multiversity. Her music, rooted in themes of healing, unity, and connection with nature, is sung by communities worldwide and can be found in her online song library and on all major streaming platforms.

We sing beautiful, uplifting songs and transcendent harmonies from various artists and traditions that invoke the power of love, unity among all people, and reverence for all life. We are devoted to empowering women’s voices, uplifting women’s lives, and building a strong, vibrant community here in Santa Cruz.We’ve been offering Spring and Winter concerts since the year 2005, and almost every show has been a sell-out! We also love to sing at community events, marches, rallys, spiritual centers, and benefit concerts. Over the years we’ve offered our loving hearts and harmonious voices to the women at our local jail, and have given thousands of dollars to local organizations that care for people and the planet. We feel especially blessed that we had the great honor of singing before the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers for their 7th council meeting in Sedona, Arizona. Demonstrate to me over time that you have the ability to listen deeply, sing in tune and with a straight tone, blend your voice, hold your own part, and sing with both heart and precision.
