A Friday evening tennis fundraising event for two wonderful causes - the Pancare Foundation and the Cancer Council WA

Manning Tennis Club is pleased to be hosting an evening event featuring a Team Competition (doubles), sausage sizzle, kids coaching activities, raffles and silent auctions as part of its efforts to raise funds for two worthy causes in the Pancare Foundation (Pancreatic Cancer) and the Cancer Council WA.With so many impacted by cancer, this one is close to home for the MTC family and we're looking forward to doing our part to make a difference.Whether you're playing in the competition or just coming down to support and enjoy the other festivities, we'd love to see you there supporting these worthy causes. Team Competition (Doubles)As part of the fundraising event, we will be running a team tournament that goes from 6pm to 8pm with great prizes on offer for the winner. The tournament will be played in a doubles format with each match being a timed event (20 minutes). There will be a maximum of 32 team entries with each team playing three rounds of 20 minutes matches (16 teams will play at one time across 8 courts in an alternate fashion). Each team can comprise of 2 to 4 players with 2 players involved in each match, allowing you to change players each round. The team can be made up of players of all ages and abilities but we ask that you provide us with some idea of playing standard when registering so we can put teams into suitable divisions / groups accordingly. We encourage Parent / Child teams, family teams but we certainly welcome all combinations. Entry is $30 per team and while we haven't included the fee here, the club will contact those who have registered to confirm their entry after which payment will be required. Event activitiesIn addition to the competition, we also have a range of other activities along with our refreshment facilities being available throughout the evening. Below is an outline of what's planned (subject to change):<ul><li>Sausage sizzle ($2) approximately 5pm</li><li>Kids coaching activities (10 and under) approximately 6pm to 7pm</li><li>Raffles and silent auction - throughout the night with winners announced during prize presentation at approximately 8.30pm</li><li>Food for sale approximately 6.30pm onwards</li><li>Free tennis play 8pm to 10pm</li></ul>How to donate to our fundraiserTo raise funds, we've set up an EverydayHero fundraising team page https://give.everydayhero.com/au/teammtc-playing4acause with one page for the Pancare Foundation and one for Cancer Council WA so please donate to either charity. We encourage those participating in the tournament to create their own fundraising page for either of the charity (linked to the team page) and share their fundraising pages with their network and share why they're playing for that cause. People can also make donations in the collection boxes at the club in the lead up to the event and on the day itself.
