We empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds. Check back frequently, as we post new service opportunities on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Seeds of Caring

Kids will celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King by exploring social action and donating gently used or new books with diverse characters.

Who this Anywhere Project is for:Ages 4-12. Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at Programs@seedsofcaring.org.What you'll be doing:Celebrate MLK Day with Seeds of Caring! Children will explore social action through age-appropriate activities that honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. Kind kids will then have the option to donate new or gently used books that contain a character of color and decorate a bookmark for <a href="https://www.readtosucceedfoundation.org/" title="https://www.readtosucceedfoundation.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Read to Succeed Foundation</a>.When you'll be doing it:This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are!This project is on-going. Families and groups may participate anytime until the project ends on January 29th. Donations may be contact-free, porch-dropped from 9am - 7pm January 26-28th at a Seeds of Caring ambassador’s home in Dublin, Worthington, Gahanna, Upper Arlington or Reynoldsburg or to our home office in Worthington on January 29th. Addresses are provided in the service packet.How it all works:Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you'll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project's guided discussion focuses on social action and service.Approximate Cost:Free. Children have the option to donate gently used or new books containing a character of color. Use crafts supplies on hand to decorate a bookmark.Why you'll be invited to donate:Every time we're able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it's with the help of supporters like you.
