Morning Session, 10:00 am to Noon: Video selections including greeting by the Rev. Dr. William Barber II, followed by a Panel Discussion framing the nature of this period and lessons from the Greensboro Massacre. Panelists include Rev. Nelson Johnson, Rev. Starsky Wilson, Rev. Naomi Tutu, Ash-Lee Henderson, Dr. Marty Nathan, Rev. Dr. Jerry Taylor, and Flint Taylor. Lunch, Noon to 1:00 pm1:00 – 2:00 PM Special Musical Tribute to the CWP 5 and Freedom Fighters of Yesterday and Today by Fruit of Labor.Afternoon Session, 2:00 to 4:00 pm: Customized panels and workshops led by leaders in each arena of the movement to discuss the significance of the Greensboro Massacre to different sectors of movement building. We stress that all the workshops are interrelated and overlapping and when we dig deep we see the intersectionality of our work. Specific workshops include:<ul><li>The role of today’s youth organizing and intergenerational solidarity in building the movement</li><li>The role of today’s struggle for labor and worker justice in building the movement</li><li>The role of legal and policy work in building the movement</li><li>The role of faith-based and religious work in building the movement</li><li>The role of addressing climate-change and for environmental justice in building the movement</li><li>The role of the struggle against racism and rising white supremacy, and for gender equity and immigration justice in building the movement</li><li>Building local power as part of a national movement while promoting truth, justice and healing</li><li>The role of cultural work and the arts in building the movement</li></ul>This event is a part of the larger Greensboro Massacre: Lessons for Today commemoration events November 1-3, 2019.
