Join Coleman Stevenson for a five-week introductory level class series, we will study basic applications of planetary magic.

In this introductory level class series, we will study basic applications of planetary magic, learning the symbolic values of the seven classical planets and some simple methods of appealing to them as allies and guides.Each week we will study different “wandering stars,” exploring various kinds of correspondences assigned to them historically and searching for their energies and influences in our own lives. We’ll practice individual devotional rituals to each planet, using symbolic objects (most of which can be found around us at home or in nature), color symbolism, poetic language, sigilcraft, and more. Participants will be asked to keep a journal to record their personal ritual designs and weekly interactions with planetary energies.Participants will need to gather the following materials before the start of the course:candles of any size/shape (one of each following color: black or grey, blue, red, yellow or gold, green, orange, lavender or silver)a blank journalsketch paperpens, pencils, markers, or crayons in same colors as candlesany tarot or oracle deckThis is a 5 week long series! About Your Instructor:<a href="https://www.colemanstevenson.com/about-me-contact" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Coleman Stevenson</a> (she/her) is the author of three collections of poems (Light Sleeper, Breakfast, and The Accidental Rarefication of Pattern #5609), several books about the Tarot including <a href="https://seagrapeapothecary.com/products/dark-exact-tarot-guide-expanded-edition?_pos=2&amp;_sid=ffa3d70a7&amp;_ss=r" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Dark Exact Tarot Guide</a>, and a book of essays on creativity accompanying the card game Metaphysik. Her writing has appeared in a variety of literary journals and the anthology Motionless from the Iron Bridge. In addition to her work as a designer of tarot and oracle decks through her company <a href="https://www.instagram.com/darkexact/?hl=en" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Dark Exact</a>, her fine art work, exhibited in galleries around the US, focuses on the intersections between image and text. She has been a guest curator for various gallery spaces in the Portland, Oregon, area, and has taught poetry, tarot, design theory, and cultural studies at a number of different institutions there, most currently at Literary Arts and the Portland Art Museum.
