About this event:Indiana University (IU) is committing a minimum of $111 million over the next several years to bolster its national leadership in microelectronics and nanotechnology. One of the key initiatives in this endeavor is the IU Center for Reliable and Trusted Electronics (IU-CREATE), driven in part by a partnership with NSWC Crane and additional support from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. IU-CREATE’s primary focus is on cultivating student talent in Indiana and the Ohio River Valley, with a specific emphasis on high-reliability microelectronics technologies designed for operation in space and other extreme environments. This presentation will provide an overview of the planned research, education, and workforce development initiatives at IU, exploring collaborative opportunities to address the most pressing challenges associated with the use of emerging micro- and nanoelectronics technologies in critical application areas. Speaker Bio:<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/daniel-loveless/" title="https://www.linkedin.com/in/daniel-loveless/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dr. Daniel Loveless</a> is an Associate Professor of Intelligent Systems Engineering at Indiana University, where they research radiation effects and reliability in electronic and photonic integrated circuits and high-performance and radiation-hardened digital, mixed-signal, and analog integrated circuit design. Dr. Loveless was a Guerry Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) from 2014 to 2023. Before joining UTC in 2014, Dr. Loveless was a senior engineer and Research Assistant Professor at the Institute for Space and Defense Electronics (ISDE) at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Loveless has published over 110 articles, is a Senior Member of IEEE, and is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science.
