Anomaly - The Rochester Genre Film Festival is holding its inaugural festival Friday, November 8 through Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Cinema Theatre in downtown Rochester, NY. Dedicated to showcasing independent genre films — including, horror, science fiction, fantasy, action, and more — from around the world, the festival hopes to broaden audience minds and awaken forgotten demons.

<p>In this splatter-riffic action-horror throwback, a crew of grizzled Vietnam vets (played by a murder’s row of character actors, including Steven Lang, Fred Williamson, William Sadler, David Patrick Kelly, Martin Kove, and George Wendt) band together to protect their VFW hall from a band of drug-addled mutants out to regain their stolen stash.

</p><p>Shooting on glorious celluloid, Joe Begos perfectly captures the midnight movie vibe with this post-apocalyptic riff of siege action flicks. With plenty of practical gore and a gleefully bloodthirsty tone, VFW is an adrenaline-fueled ride to hell from Fangoria’s film production banner.</p>
