What is the venue?

The meeting will be held under a large, open air pavilion, at the Port Royal Sound Foundation Maritime Center. Restrooms and other facilities are nearby. Field Trips will be held at nearby locations in the Beaufort area.

Is there a registration discount for students?

If you are a student and interested in having your registration fee discounted or waived, please contact us at scherpsociety@gmail.com. We want to make sure anyone and everyone is able to attend this event and will help cover costs anyway we can.

What should I bring?

A notebook, a writing utensil, and a coffee mug! If you plan to participate in one of the field trips, definitely bring along some field clothes and a water bottle. We will be supplying coffee, tea, water, and other snacks throughout the meeting.

Will food be provided?

We will be supplying coffee, tea, water, and other snacks throughout the meeting. Lunch on Day 1 of the meeting will be provided and catered by a local sandwich shop. Lunch on Day 2 of the meeting is not provided.

Where should I stay for the meeting?

There are several hotels throughout the Beaufort and Bluffton area within a 15 minute drive from the venue. We are encouraging registrants to stay at the Holiday Inn at 2225 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC 29902. Or one of the other hotels in this area.

We are still working on this! We will have several options with varying levels of exploration. Some trips will be limited participation, so stay tuned and sign up quick when you are able to!
