P﻿eggy HoranPeggy Horan has been practicing and teaching Esalen massage for over 5 decades and is now deemed a legacy teacher. She earned her certificate in mindfulness meditation teaching with Jack Kornfeld and Tara Brach. She also was a midwife in Big Sur, and is a student of movement, yoga, and psychology. She has taught programs in Esalen massage at all levels and is on the Teacher Training faculty.  Peggy is a long time resident of Big Sur, wife, mother and grandmother. Her practice now includes Compassionate Coaching to support others on their spiritual journey.w﻿ww.peggyhoran.comJ﻿enny ParenoJenny is a Certified Esalen Massage Practitioner, Esalen Massage Teacher.  In addition to her extensive experience as a massage therapist, she is a  dedicated educator, and has been an integral part of the Esalen community for over a decade. She also manages her own  private massage practice in San Luis Obispo, where she calls home. Beyond her nurturing hands, her adventurous spirit shines through as an avid trail runner, connecting with nature and finding balance in the beauty of movement.w﻿ww.jpareno.com

Finding ways to connect without language can be a magical experience. Esalen® Massage, a presence-based practice, centers around the concepts of connection, quality of touch, presence, and deep listening. In this workshop, we will explore the basic skills in giving massages, using these guiding principles and techniques developed over decades informed by many teachings.We will explore practices that invite presence, grounding, and centering, quieting the mind and sensitive touch. In addition to long flowing strokes, we will learn to identify specific areas where tension may live in the body, and how to help each other relax as the body heals through loving support and compassionate touch.There will be discussions, demonstrations, and time to exchange massage with hands on guidance from Peggy and Jenny.COUPLES, FRIENDS, FAMILY, EXPERIENCE OR NO EXPERIENCE, ALL ARE WELCOME.
