In this class we will explore the different types of tonic herbs and how one can incorporate them into their everyday lives.

Winter is the time for restoration and rejuvenation, an opportunity to slow down and prepare ourselves for the coming Spring. "Tonic" herbs are just the thing to support this restoration process, gradually nourishing and invigorating our bodies slowly over time. These are the primary herbs of preventive care, the foundation of health. Tonics are best used for regular maintenance to keep us at the top of our game, to aid in the recovery from previous illnesses or challenges, or as support alongside chronic illness. In this class we will explore the different types of tonic herbs and how one can incorporate them into their everyday lives to help fortify various body systems and deal with stress.A﻿ll attendees will receive a 15% off coupon to our shop! I run a humble herbal medicine practice based in Allston, where I work out of an apothecary almost entirely gathered from wild plants or grown in my garden. My goal as an herbalist is to enable my clients to make healthcare choices on their own terms and educate them on how to use herbs to feel better. I trained as an apprentice under 7Song at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, as an herbal First Aid-er at various wilderness gatherings and as a foot care worker at the Asheville Street Feet Clinic in North Carolina. Along the way, I have wildcrafted and botanized up and down the East Coast getting to know our local flora and their many medicinal and edible uses, both current and historic. Since returning home to Boston in 2020, I have been leading classes and workshops on herbal medicine, wild food, invasive species and local ecology, and all sorts of other plant based topics.
