The School Culture and Climate Initiative

Each School Support Network Meeting in Sussex County will begin with coffee/light refreshments and networking, table talks and then a professional development session. This month's topic is described below.
Professional Development Topic: Secure Attachment and the Impact of Trauma In Schools:  Challenges, Solutions and How We Get There 
Research show that one out every four children has been exposed to a traumatic event that can affect their learning, behavior, and relationships at school. This presentation will explore the cycle of secure attachment, impacts of trauma, and the importance of leadership and educators in creating the understanding and infrastructure that can support children of trauma, and all children, to be successful in life and school.
